General information to apply for certification can be found below:
NEW APPLICANT
- Download and complete an 申請表
- Request and Official Transcript from the Institution you obtained your degree.
- Send your completed Application Form and your Official Transcript via email to GCEC Certification Officer Fran Camacho at ‘francamacho@gcec.guam.gov’ and copy ‘office@gcec.guam.gov’.
- After reviewing your files, GCEC Certification Officer will communicate if your application is complete or if additional information is required.
- Additionally, you will be provided a reference number for the application fee. Payment can be made at the UOG Cashier’s Office. You can either visit them or make payment over the phone by calling (671) 735-2923. Please remember to provide the reference number when making payment.
RENEWING APPLICANT
- Download and complete an 申請表
- To claim Professional Development Hours, download and complete the Professional Growth Activity Form
- While we are in PCOR 1, we simply require your school administrator’s signature on page 1. No team member signatures will be requested at this time. Please refer to page 4 to indicate the Professional Development (PD) hours you are claiming.
- If you completed Continuing Education Units (CEUs) please request for an official transcript that reflects the courses completed. 一 (1) CEU is equivalent to fifteen (15) clock hours of professional activities. We will accept any combination of PD hours and CEUs to satisfy the 120 hour requirement.
- Professional Development Hours Required for Recertification
- Professional: 90 hours
- Masters: 120 hours
- Professional Development Hours Required for Recertification
- For Administrators: please complete the ‘School Administrator Professional Growth Activity Form’
- Have a copy of your latest Performance Evaluation to submit along with your application and Professional Growth Activity Form.

Due to the extraordinary circumstances brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, automatic extensions until August 31, 2020 will be provided for all educator certificates with expiration dates from March 16, 2020 to June 30, 2020. Beginning September 1, 2014, ETS will no longer offer the current Praxis I (PPST). ETS is replacing it with the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators Test.
